Cary Phillips, JD, CPCU, CLU, AIC, ARe, is the Founder and Managing Partner of CP1 Consulting, LLC.
Before launching CP1, Phillips worked for Employers Reinsurance Corporation, one of the leading companies of the GE Capital division of General Electric. In his 15 years there, Phillips held a variety of positions, including Vice President of Property and Casualty Claims. He received his Master Black Belt in Six Sigma process, GE’s highest designation for quality improvement.
Phillips received his bachelor’s degree from Christian Brothers College in Memphis, TN, and earned his law degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1978. Upon admission to the Missouri Bar, he clerked for a federal judge and went on to work as a defense attorney for a Kansas City law firm.
Phillips conducts presentations and workshops nationally and internationally on diverse topics relating to insurance, litigation, business processes and organizational effectiveness.
He has held leadership positions with the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriters and the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel. He served as Dean and a faculty instructor for the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel Litigation Management College held at Emory University.
Phillips currently serves on the Board of Great Plains Trust Company in Overland Park, Kansas.
